There’s a lot of good happening in St. Louis, and we’re glad we met singer, producer, and wonderful do-gooder Brian Owens through our friends at the Kranzburg Arts Foundation. He introduced us to his work at the Life Arts Foundation, and we were hooked. Brian has been working to help children in Ferguson and the surrounding North County neighborhoods since 2014. Life Arts’ goal is to cultivate a new generation of leaders by giving kids a welcoming arts-focused educational environment and mental health and social services to work through adversity. Therapy, music education, and mentors have created a supportive environment to help children and young adults break the cycle of poverty and violence. Children will uncover and cultivate new talents, all while learning new skills and gaining self-confidence to do great things. Life Arts has been serving the community, but with the recent acquisition of a former church in North County (thank you, M1 Bank!), they will be able to serve more youth than ever before.

We’ve been working on reconfiguring the church’s interior to meet Life Arts’ needs, and here are a few images of what the building will grow up to be.
