Have plans on Friday night? No? Come on down to our studios to see the handiwork of our latest guest artist, Andrew James. This wall of pixelated shapes is the result of a long process of visual deconstruction. Starting with old VHS tapes, Andrew photographs on-screen images with his phone and begins to degrade the images by transferring them from device to device to eventually arrive at a low-quality, highly-pixelated image. After removing the white, he is left with 3-color chunks of the original image.
Andrew displayed the landmarks of this process of creation through destruction in our gallery. Come by to experience it for yourself in person.
