SPACE is pleased to announce that architect John Pitman has joined the board of directors for The St. Louis Art Place Initiative, an effort to create affordable home ownership opportunities for low- to middle-income artists. The first development will be in St. Louis’s Gravois Park neighborhood, which is roughly the area within Jefferson Avenue, Chippewa Street, Grand Boulevard, and Cherokee Street. St. Louis Art Place endeavors to create affordable housing by renovating vacant and deteriorating properties, all while working closely with the community groups to serve and enhance the neighborhood. John’s expertise in architecture, construction, and his inexhaustable knowledge of building codes will serve his peers of community leaders and artists on Art Place’s board well. Congratulations, John!
